Château les Carasses is a stunning 19th Century wine Château, which has been extensively restored as a luxury hotel and boutique winery. On this trip, discover the nearby Languedoc vineyards and take time to relax and pamper yourself in your luxurious surroundings. En route to the Château, stop off at an authentic oyster farm, where you will be taken on a tour on a traditional flat-bottomed boat. Here, you will learn about the fascinating oyster farming industry before tasting a selection of oysters with the obligatory glass of white wine. After checking into your Suite with private terrace at the Château, spend the remainder of the day exploring the estate or taking a dip in the beautiful infinity pool. In the evening, a tutored tasting session will take place at the Château, introducing you to the region and the astonishing variety of wines produced here.
On day two, take a leisurely drive to your choice of Minerve, one of the most beautiful villages in France or the pretty hill-top village of Faugères. Here, you will visit a local winery for a full tour of the wine-making process and a tasting session of the estate’s wines. If you have opted to visit Minerve, a tour of a neighbouring olive oil producer will take place or alternatively in Faugères, visit a traditional goat’s cheese producer and taste a selection of the region’s famous cheeses. After returning to the Château, enjoy a Mediterranean wine-pairing dinner in the gourmet brasserie or on the terrace.
After breakfast on day three, an English-speaking guide will accompany you to the Château’s picturesque vineyards, where the morning will be spent taking a picturesque walk and discovering the different grape varieties and the terroir of the Domaine. Following a tour of the Château les Carrasses winery and a tasting session of the full range of the estate’s wines, there will then be time for a picnic lunch before returning to the Château for a free afternoon to do as you please.
Before heading back to the airport on day four, enjoy a guided river cruise along the Canal du Midi, allowing you to admire the quintessentially Southern French countryside from another perspective.
