Your Own Private Loire Château for a Week with Friends or Family

This break is ideal for those who want to travel with a small group of friends or family members. You will be staying in your very own private Château in the Loire Valley and the itinerary is designed to combine some wine tours together with some free time to enjoy quality time with your loved ones.

Day one

• Upon arrival in the Loire Valley, check in your private Château. Due to the wide range of travel options to the region, travel has not been included in this package but do not hesitate to let us know if you require any assistance with your travel arrangements.
• The remainder of the day will be free for you to settle in and enjoy the Château’s fabulous facilities.

Day two

• After breakfast on day two, you will be met by a private vehicle who will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. Depending on the size of your party, the vehicle may be a minivan or a mini coach.
• You will firstly be taken to a premium Vouvray estate for a tour of the domaine and cellars, concluding with tastings of five of the region’s white Chenin Blanc-based wines, including the domaine’s Réserve Spéciale. Tastings of local delicacies such as cheeses and rillettes will be served alongside the wines.
• You will then be welcomed to the breath-taking Château de Chenonceau, one of the finest examples of the region’s historic Châteaux, where you will have an audio-guided tour. You may wish to have lunch at the Château in their gourmet Orangerie restaurant, or simply stop for a short break in the self-service Bâtiment des Dômes with its crêperie.
• In the afternoon, you will be taken to a second estate for a tour of the wine-making facilities followed by a tasting session of the estate’s wines.
• You will be taken back to the Château at the end of the day and the evening will be free for you to do as you please.

Day three

• The day will be free for you to spend time with your friends / family and explore independently.
• In the evening, a delicious dinner prepared by a private chef will be served at the Château.

Day four

• In the morning of day four, your driver will return to take you on a second day of tours.
• Having been introduced to the region’s white wines on day two, your journey of discovery will continue and take you to Chinon, where you will be welcomed as the VIP guests of one of the town’s best producers. Your guide will accompany you on a tour of the estate and cellars, where you will see first-hand the wine-making process from press to bottle. The tour will conclude with five tastings.
• You will then be taken to a 15^th Century wine-making Château, where your will be welcomed by the Count and Countess of the estate. Following a visit to the Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc vineyards and a tour of the cellars, a tasting session will take place in the Château’s historic tasting room. A picnic lunch with a bottle of wine will then be served in the Château’s stunning grounds.
• In the afternoon, you will have some free time to explore the pretty riverside town of Chinon before being taken back to your Château.
• The evening will be free for you to do as you please.

Day five

• Today will be free for you to enjoy the Château’s extensive range of facilities or further explore independently.

Day six

• After breakfast on day six, your driver will return. Today you will be taken to Saumur.
• Your first visit will be at Langlois Château, where you will be taken on a full tour followed by tastings of five to seven wines. This estate dates back to the 19^th Century and is currently under the same ownership as Champagne Bollinger.
• You will have lunch in a troglodytic cave, where you will taste the local speciality, fouée. This traditional dish consists of hot bread rolls that are heated in an open oven, accompanied by various pâtés, such as rillettes and mojettes.
• You will then visit the prestigious Bouvet Ladubay, where you will be taken on a tour of some of their 5km of cellars and will enjoy tastings of a range of their wines.
• You will be taken back to your Château at the end of the tour and the evening will be free for you to spend as you please.

Dax seven

• Free day to enjoy with your friends / family.

Day eight

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the Château.

Guide Price

The price of this package depends on the number of people travelling. Guide prices are as follows:

• £2395 per person, based on 8 people travelling
• £2090 per person, based on 10 people travelling
• £1827 per person, based on 12 people travelling
• £1456 per person, based on 16 people travelling

This price includes accommodation at Château de Raguerniere for seven nights, a private chauffeured vehicle for three full days, tours and tastings at six premium wineries, entry tickets with audio-guides to the Château de Chenonceau, two lunches and a private chef for one evening.

The Château

Château de Raguerniere is luxury 19th Century property located on a private park of 9 hectares just a stone’s throw away from the lovely town of Langeais. An outdoor heated pool with a terrace is at guest’s disposal. The Château also includes a breakfast room, a formal dining room, a billiard room, a cocktail lounge and a drawing room. Various activities are available on the Château’s grounds including a petanque court, a table tennis and a selection of bicycles.

The Château can welcome up to 18 guests in 9 spacious bedrooms (all with ensuite bathrooms) spread across two floors. The rooms are elegantly decorated in an elegant and opulent Château’s style.
