Nestled in the heart of Andalusia, Jerez de la Frontera is the ideal setting for a short yet immersive escape into the world of Sherry. Famous for its elegant architecture, traditional tabancos, and century-old bodegas, Jerez offers a unique opportunity to discover the soul of this historic wine region.
Over the course of three days, you’ll explore its atmospheric streets, taste a variety of exceptional sherries, and experience the rich culture that makes this city so captivating. If you opt for the four-day package, your journey will continue into the broader Sherry Triangle, with visits to Sanlúcar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa María. These charming coastal towns offer a deeper insight into the region’s diversity, from ocean-influenced Manzanilla to rare VORS treasures, providing a more complete and enriching exploration of Andalusia’s iconic wine heritage.
After checking into your preferred room at the Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe, you will have the unique opportunity to enjoy a tasting on-site at one of Jerez’s most historic bodegas. This relaxed and welcoming experience offers a perfect introduction to the region’s signature styles, including a glass of their iconic Tío Pepe Fino. In the evening, take a stroll through the charming streets of Jerez and settle into the Andalusian rhythm of life. We would be delighted to recommend a local restaurant and reserve you a table for dinner if required.
Day two of your Jerez sherry tour is dedicated to discovering the sherry bodegas of central Jerez. You will head to your visits on foot today, wandering through the historic sherry quarter where traditional cellars are tucked between cobbled lanes and lively plazas. You will taste the region’s full range of styles, gaining a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship behind each wine.
Your day includes a visit to a prestigious boutique winery known for its exceptional aged sherries and its impressive private art gallery, which houses original works by some of Spain’s most famous masters, including Zurbarán, El Greco, Velázquez, and Goya. This thoughtful combination of fine art and wine creates an unforgettable experience.
Later, you’ll visit Bodegas Fundador, home to Harvey’s Sherry, for a guided tour of their historic cellars followed by a delicious lunch, thoughtfully paired with their finest wines. After lunch, you will visit a lesser-known boutique producer for an additional tour and tasting.
Following the visit, you’ll have time to return to your hotel to freshen up before enjoying an authentic Andalusian Flamenco performance in a unique and atmospheric venue, formerly a working winery. The show offers a captivating insight into one of Spain’s most iconic cultural traditions and will be accompanied by a drink. After the performance, the evening is yours to dine at leisure. Should you wish, we would be delighted to recommend a local restaurant and reserve you a table.
If you opt for the four-day package, after a leisurely breakfast you will be met by a private driver who will accompany you throughout day three on a private basis. You will be taken to the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the birthplace of Manzanilla and an essential part of the Sherry Triangle. Your day begins with a visit to the vineyards, where you’ll gain insight into the native grape varieties, distinctive albariza soils, and the unique Atlantic influence that shapes the wines.
From there, continue to the producer’s cellars in the heart of Sanlúcar to explore the ageing process that defines Manzanilla sherry. The visit concludes with a delicious lunch, each course thoughtfully paired with the estate’s finest Manzanillas.
In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a final visit to another local bodega before making your way to El Puerto de Santa María, a charming port town celebrated for its vibrant seafood scene and rich maritime sherry heritage.
Here, you will enjoy a tasting at a breathtaking winery housed within the walls of a medieval castle, an unforgettable setting that beautifully captures the grandeur of the region. You’ll be taken back to Jerez at the end of the day. The evening is free for you to enjoy your last night in Jerez. Dinner is not included, but we would be pleased to recommend a few local restaurants, there is no shortage of excellent options within walking distance of your hotel. Alternatively, you may wish to dine at your hotel: the on-site restaurant offers a refined culinary experience, showcasing traditional Andalusian cuisine with a modern twist.
On your final morning, after a leisurely breakfast check out of your hotel.

Had a really exceptional trip. Wouldn't have been possible to pull together an itinerary like this without the support of Grape Escapes.
