Trip Summary

Upon arrival at the beautiful 5* Château de Berne in the heart of the pretty Provençal vineyards, check into your preferred room grade. After settling in with some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful hotel, in the evening, you will be served a five-course dinner in the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Each course will be expertly paired with wines chosen by the sommelier.

After a leisurely breakfast on day two, you will be met at the hotel by an executive chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. You will begin by visiting Château de Saint Martin, a fantastic Cru Classé winery. This charming 18^th Century estate has been preciously passed on from generation to generation since its foundation. Here, you will be taken on a tour of the stunning underground cellars, dating back to the Middle Ages, concluding with tastings of four of the Château’s best wines and a delicious picnic lunch in the picturesque setting of the Château’s grounds.

Following this, your day will continue in true style as the guests of Château d’Esclans, the creator of the world-famous Whispering Angel. Sacha Lichine wanted to create the greatest rosé wines in the world and on a behind-the-scenes tour of the estate, you will see first-hand his innovative wine-making techniques. Your tour will conclude with a tasting of Whispering Angel.

Following such a wonderful visit, you will return to the hotel. In the late afternoon, we will arrange for you to enjoy a tour of the estate at Château de Berne, concluding with a tasting of 3 of the estate’s wines. Your evening will then be free for you to spend as you please – we’d be delighted to reserve you a table for dinner at one of the Château de Berne’s delightful restaurants if you so desire.

For those spending a third night and booking the four-day package, after breakfast on day two, you will be met at the hotel by an executive chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the morning and early afternoon on a private basis. You will begin by visiting a small, authentic winery in the Cotes de Provence appellation, where you will meet the winemakers themselves on a private tour, and enjoy a tasting of some of the estate’s wines, which include rosé, red and white.

You will then be taken to another prestigious producer of rosé wines, La Commanderie de Peyrassol. Founded in the 13^th Century by the Knights Templar, this historic estate was a favourite resting place for pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land. Today’s owners have restored the domaine to its former glory and following a guided tour, you will enjoy an extensive tasting of some of the region’s most highly regarded rosé wines. Following this, you will enjoy a delightful three-course lunch at the estate’s gastronomic restaurant. Please note drinks have not been included as part of the package and can be ordered and paid for locally. After returning to your hotel, the rest of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to spend as you please, and we’d be delighted to make you a table reservation for dinner as you wish.

• In the morning, your chauffeur will return and accompany you on a second day of tours. Your tour day will comprise of:
• A tour and tasting at a smaller winery in the Côtes de Provence appellation.
• A tour, tasting, and gastronomic lunch at La Commanderie de Peyrassol.
• The evening will be free to do as you please.

Final Day

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
