Location
Set within a beautifully restored 19th-century warehouse, Hotel Chais Monnet gets its name from the world-famous Cognac winegrower Jean Monnet who began his career here, before it was eventually developed into a luxury hotel by renowned architect Didier Poignant in 2018. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town, and its rooms, suites and apartments are spread across four buildings, renovated in a contemporary, tasteful style while still giving a nod to the history of the chais.

Hotel Chais Monnet boasts a state-of-the-art spa with sauna and hammam, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and a fully-equipped fitness centre for those who want to stay active. Guests can enjoy world-class treatments at the spa which have been recognised by the prestigious Condé Nast Johansens guide for their excellence.
The hotel also boasts a range of exceptional dining experiences – the contemporary brasserie enjoys a relaxed environment with an extensive range of delicious choices for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; or guests can opt for the Michelin-starred Les Foudres, which focuses on delightful, refined cuisine devoted to the region—alongside an extensive wine list. Although, surely you came to the region for the Cognac – thankfully the hotel still makes this the star of the show. Some rooms are in the modern building of the hotel, while others are situated in the historic chais, which were the former wine storehouses.
