Location

Ideally located in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage listed Douro Valley, the hotel boasts a quiet situation.  A half hour drive will take you to the picturesque town of Pinhão, at the heart of the Douro vineyards.

Facilities

The Vale d’Abraão Restaurant offers an Open Kitchen and Terrace dining experience as well as a traditional, intimate dining room.  The kitchen sources many of its ingredients locally, some even grown in the estate’s organic garden, offering up traditional Portuguese cuisine and there is a team of sommeliers to advise on wine pairing.  From May to October there is also a nightly barbecue restaurant.

Six Senses Douro

The Spa is second to none and offers an enormous range of possibilities. In addition to the 10 treatment rooms, there is also an indoor pool, a gym, yoga and pilates pavilion. Tennis and badminton courts are available, as well as bikes to explore the local area. Guest Experience makers are on hand to recommend the in house daily courses, ranging from tile painting to making your own pickles.

Rooms

The Six Senses has 60 spacious rooms, and feature Portuguese oak floors and earthy tones with textured walls, the floor-to-ceiling windows create a light and bright feel. Suites include bathtubs with views of the Douro, while standard rooms offer showers, both come with locally made lemon or lavender soap. The beds are supremely comfortable, dressed in soft cotton sheets and a pillow menu is available.
