5* Porto and Douro Summer Special Package

Day One

• Upon arrival in Porto, check into your Executive room at the 5* Yeatman Hotel. This enchanting hotel is a luxury haven, offering a stay of ultimate indulgence and relaxation.
• The remainder of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Alternatively, you may prefer to wander across Porto, exploring the excellent range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants which it has to offer!

Day Two

• After breakfast on day two, make your way on foot to Graham’s Port Lodge. The estate is located 20 minutes from your hotel and the friendly reception staff will be delighted to call you a taxi if preferred.
• Here, you will enjoy a guided tour of the renowned Port lodge. Following your visit, you will taste three Ports in the Vintage Room; Graham’s Six Grapes, Graham’s LBV and Graham’s ten-year-old Tawny.

• After the tour, a delicious lunch with wine, water and coffee will be served in Graham’s Vinum restaurant. The restaurant has a lovely terrace with spectacular views across Porto and the Douro.
• After lunch, make your way to your next visit. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. The famous Sandeman Port wine lodge boasts a magnificent view of Porto. Here, an English-speaking guide will accompany you through the lodges full of casks of ageing Porto wine. Your visit will conclude with a tasting of five different port wines in the ‘1790’ room.
• A five minutes’ walk will take you to Taylor’s, one of the oldest and most prestigious Port Lodges in the region. Here, explore the Cathedral-like cellars housing gigantic wooden vats with the help of an audio-guide. Your tour will conclude with a commented tasting of four Ports; Taylor’s Chip Dry Port, Taylor’s LBV, Taylor’s 20 year old Tawny Port and Taylor’s Vintage Port.
• Walk back to your hotel at the end of the day, in time to relax and enjoy the evening.

Day Three

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.
• Make your way independently to the Douro Valley. The journey time is approximately 1 ½ hour by car or 2 ½ hours by train. We would be delighted to arrange a private transfer for you if required.
• Upon arrival in Pinhåo, check into your Standard room at the 5* Vintage House Hotel, a former 18th century wine lodge, located on the banks of the River Douro, offering timeless elegance in an English country house style, along with the ultimate in luxury. The remainder of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities and explore your surroundings independently.

Day Four

• After breakfast on day four, make your way to your first visit on foot. The walk is just under five minutes.

• You will be welcomed as the guests of Quinta do Bomfim, owned by the Symington family. Here, you will enjoy a full tour of the estate and tastings of three Douro DOC Ports, followed by a picnic style lunch in the middle of the vines or overlooking the river Douro.
• After your lunch, make your way to a second Quinta, located just five minutes away on foot.
• Upon arrival at Quinta das Carvalhas, you will be taken on an exclusive tour with the estate’s winegrower. After the tour, you will be able to sample some of the estates’ wines accompanied by some local delicacies in an old ruin turned into an open-air tasting room with breath-taking views over the Douro Valley. Please note that part of this tour will be transported by jeep or minivan.
• In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour Douro cruise on a traditional Rabelo boat.
• The evening will be free for you to do as you please.

Day Five

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel and, at your own pace, commence your return journey.

The total price of this special offer, based on 2 people sharing a double or twin room at 5* Yeatman hotel and 5* Vintage House Hotel is £999 (GBP) per person and includes 2 nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation in an Executive room at the Yeatman Hotel, 2 nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation in a Standard room at the Vintage House Hotel, tours and tastings at Graham’s, Sandeman and Taylor’s Port Lodges, a lunch with drinks in Graham’s Vinum restaurant, a tour, tasting and picnic lunch at Quinta do Bomfim, a tour and tasting with local delicacies at Quinta das Carvalhas and a cruise.
