Contact UsImportant information: Please note that the definitive dates of the Champagne harvest is entirely dependent on the weather. Harvest in Champagne usually takes place in September, and the provisional dates are determined in June. However, in the case of extreme weather, the harvest dates can change (sometimes with just a few days’ notice). If this is the case, the Champagne House will propose some alternative hands-on activities which will be equally enjoyable. Based on the past few years, we recommend travelling earlier rather than later.
This package gives you the exclusive opportunity to experience the real life of a wine-maker and take part in the fascinating harvest. Discover the secrets of the wine-making process and bring unforgettable memories back home.
After settling in at the 4* Hotel de la Paix in the town of Reims, guests are free to choose their favourite large, prestigious Champagne House for a tour and a flute or two of their Champagnes. There are several options subject to your preference and availabilities, including Mercier, GH Mumm, Pommery, Ruinart, Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot. Please note that a number of the more exclusive estates do not tend to receive visitors at weekends and some of them do not receive visitors at all. We would be pleased to discuss the various options with you and contact the individual estates accordingly. The evening will be free for you to spend as you please.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will be met at the hotel by a private chauffeured vehicle, who will take you to a boutique Champagne House where you will spend a unique and exciting day as a Champagne harvester. Your day will start with a full tour of the estate and the winemaking facilities to help you understand the process from vine to bottle. You will then head into the vines, where you will try your hand at picking the grapes with the harvesting team. This once-in-a-lifetime activity will allow you to truly immerse yourself in the spirit of the Champenoise people and will last for around an hour.
You will enjoy a traditional lunch accompanied by a selection of the estates Champagnes in a private area. After lunch you will be given the opportunity to see the old-style press working within the winery museum to fully appreciate how the harvest would have been in years gone by.
You will then be taken back to Reims where a a tasting session of three Champagnes served alongside nibbles will be arranged in the early evening.
You will have some time to freshen up before your three course Champagne tasting dinner served in a cosy, traditional restaurant in the city centre.
After breakfast on day three, check out of the hotel.
