Trip Summary

On day two, you will be met at the hotel by an English-speaking specialist driver/guide, who will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. Not only is Aix-en-Provence home to some of the world’s greatest rosés (and some superb reds and whites too), the area is also famous for the beautiful Mont Saint Victoire, a feature of many of the painter Cézanne’s masterpieces. As well as having plenty of time to admire the spectacular scenery, you will also be welcomed at three wineries for full tours and tastings. You will have free time for lunch today, and your guide will be very pleased to recommend a suitable restaurant depending on how hungry you are feeling on the day.

After being taken back to the hotel for some time to relax and freshen up, a three course dinner will be served in the hotel’s fabulously elegant dining room. Drinks have not been included as part of the package, and can be ordered and paid for locally on the evening.

For those staying a third night, your guide will return to the hotel on the morning of day three, and accompany you on a second day of wine tasting. The morning will be spent discovering the wines of Bandol, where you will visit a premium winery to taste extensive examples of the region’s white Clairette, red Mourvèdre and premium blend rosé wines. You will then have free time for lunch in the postcard-pretty port of Cassis. In the afternoon, you will discover the wines of the Cassis appellation, with a tour and tasting at two local wineries. Cassis is particularly revered for its elegant white wines, made principally from Clairette and Marsanne.

You will be taken back to the hotel at the end of the day, and your final evening will be free to enjoy the town before checking out of the hotel on day four.

Day Three (Optional)

• This morning, your guide will return and accompany you on a second day of tours. Your tour day will comprise of:
• A tour and tastings at a premium winery in the Bandol appellation.
• Free time for lunch in the picture-perfect port of Cassis.
• Tours and tastings at two Cassis wineries.
• Free evening in Aix-en-Provence.

Final Day

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
