Our Exclusive Ribera del Duero package offers the ultimate luxurious experience at the heart of the Ribera del Duero. Based at the 5* Abadia Retuerta and including premium tours and tastings as well as fine dining you will experience the best of this famous Spanish wine region.
Upon arrival in Valladolid, check into your Classic room at the 5* Abadia Retuerta. The afternoon will be free for you to settle in and relax at the hotel. In the evening, an excellent tasting dinner paired with wines will be served in the hotel’s Michelin starred restaurant.
On day two, your private English-speaking driver/guide will meet you at your hotel for a full day tour. During the course of the day, your guide will regale you with tales and anecdotes of the history of the Ribera del Duero and its vineyards, introducing you to the particularities of the region. Your day will see you enjoy all that the area has to offer, stopping off to enjoy tours and tastings in a variety of wineries, from the most modern to the most traditional, family run wineries, perhaps passing by a biodynamic bodega on the way. The cuisine of Valladolid is truly delicious and you will experience this for yourselves, eating lunch at one of the wineries, where you will enjoy, amongst other delights, the local culinary speciality of lechazo asado, a roasted dish of suckling lamb. After such an enlightening, fun day your guide will drop you off at your hotel where the evening is yours to relax. We would be pleased to suggest a restaurant for dinner if required.
On the morning of day three, your private English-speaking driver/guide will return to accompany you to the famous Bodega Portia. The winery, designed by architectural studio Foster & Partners, is truly spectacular. Constructed with steel, wood, concrete and glass, the building represents a three-pointed star in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Here, you will enjoy a tour of the facilities and learn about the technique used to make their iconic wines. You will then be given two wines to sample. After the visit, a delicious lunch with wine water and coffee will be served in the Triennia Gastrobar, the winery’s onsite restaurant. You will be taken back to your hotel after lunch.
In the afternoon, a private tour of the Abadia Retuerta winery will be arranged. This will include a tour of the estate in a private 4×4 vehicle, a visit of the Preparation Room and the Barrel Rooms, and a complete tasting session of the estate’s wines. The evening will be free for you to do as you please.
After a leisurely breakfast on day four, check out of the hotel.
