These three and four day breaks provide an in-depth and comprehensive discovery of the world-famous wines of Rioja and Hotel Viura is the ideal base from which to explore the region’s premium vineyards.
After a welcome dinner in your hotel’s restaurant and a relaxing evening, an English-speaking specialist guide will pick you up after breakfast on day two and accompany you throughout the day. Our Spanish Tour Manager was born and bred in the region and not only will she entertain you throughout the day with fascinating historical and cultural anecdotes, she will also share with you her extensive wine knowledge.
You will be taken to two wineries for tours and tastings including a visit of a small producer where you will have the opportunity to taste directly from the barrel. You will then have time to participate in the traditional tapas run. Please note that the Tapas will be payable locally. You will also enjoy a tasting session of three premium Rioja wines. At the first estate, guests will marvel at the centuries-old cellars and enjoy a private wine tasting session, whereas the second winery is more modern, offering a complete contrast. At the end of the day your guide will drop you back to your hotel.
For those opting to stay for a third night, your guide will return on day three. You will start the day by visiting a modern winery. You will then enjoy a relaxing winery lunch together with a tour of the estate. Your day will finish in style at a wine bar where you will have the opportunity to taste 4 wines to finish your wine education of the region. Your guide will drop you back to your hotel at the end of the day and the evening will be yours to relax.

Availability cannot be guaranteed until we have received a confirmed booking, together with the deposit payment (or payment in full where the dates of travel are in less than 60 days). If the named accommodation / visits are not available, we will endeavour to find suitable alternatives of a similar grade; this may be subject to a supplement or a rebate depending on the price available.
