For those who are interested in discovering the wines of the Etna DOC wine region this tour is the answer! For a fully immersive experience the three days of wine tasting can be taken on consecutive days or, if you have longer to spend in Sicily, why not spread out the winery visits over a longer period and combine your wine journey with activities such as hiking and sightseeing or simply relaxing by the pool.
Welcome to Sicily! We have chosen the boutique Monaci delle Terre Nere as your base for this exciting journey to discover the wines of the Etna DOC wine region. Once you have checked into the hotel we suggest taking a short stroll through the vineyards or relaxing by the infinity pool. Why not enjoy a glass of wine at the wine bar before heading to dinner.
We have arranged a welcome dinner for you at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, Locanda Nerello, where the cuisine offers a refined farm to table dining experience rooted in traditional Sicilian cuisine.
Day two of your stay is your first full day of wine exploration. Your first visit and tasting will be at the Monaci delle Terre Nere. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before meeting your host for a guided visit of the vineyard followed by an exclusive tasting of the wines produced on the estate. Following this experience, your private driver will collect you from the hotel and you will spend the afternoon visiting a further two DOC estates with lunch included at the first of these estates.
On day three of your stay, the journey of discovery into Etna wines continues. Enjoy your breakfast and then meet your guide at the hotel. You’ll visit three carefully selected wineries, where you’ll gain further insight into the rich history of wine making on the volcanic slopes of Etna. A light lunch is included at the second winery.
Throughout the day, you’ll experience the distinct flavors of the area, from fresh whites and vibrant rosés to rich reds. After a full day of exploring Etna’s wine culture, you’ll return to your hotel to relax and enjoy your evening at leisure.
Day four marks your third and final day of exploration in the Etna wine region.
To cap off your three days of immersive tasting, you’ll continue to enjoy the area’s finest varietals and savour the exceptional wines of the region. Each of the three wineries you visit on this final day has been carefully selected to build on the knowledge you’ve gained throughout your Sicilian journey. At the second winery your tasting will be complemented by delicious regional dishes. By the end of the tour, you’ll depart Sicily with a profound appreciation for the distinctive wines and rich viticultural heritage of the Etna region.
After the visits your driver will return you to your hotel where you can unwind and enjoy your final evening at leisure.
Monaci delle Terre Nere was fantastic! The views of Mount Etna were incredible and our suite was amazing. The food was a highlight as was the wine tasting. We will be back!
