Given the wide range of travel options, our standard package prices do not include travel. Here are the best ways to travel to Sicily:

Fly to Catania or Palermo

There are direct flights to Catania and Palermo from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports (British Airways) and from London Gatwick and London Luton Airports (Easyjet). Ryannair also operates flights from London Stansted to Marsala Trapani airport (TPS)

While there are no direct flights from North America to Sicily, there are many internal flights available to Sicily from Rome or Milan.

Palermo airport is just over 20 miles from the centre of Palermo and costs approximately 50€ in a taxi. Catania airport is just over 4 miles from the centre of Catania and costs approximately 25 € for the 15-minute taxi ride. There is also the option of a bus to the city centre.

Grape Escapes is ATOL registered, number 10831 and we would be happy to book your flights at cost, however a booking fee applies.

For those considering hiring a car to travel to and from the airport, please get in touch or use our online car hire search engine.

Alternatively, many of our clients prefer to be met at the airport by a private driver which we can happily arrange for you. Please get in touch to check the cost for this.

Ferry from Mainland Italy

For those guests who wish to travel to Sicily from mainland Italy there are several options. The fastest crossing from Villa San Giovanni in Calabria (mainland Italy) to Messina (north-eastern tip of Sicily, a 45-minute drive to Taormina) is just 20 minutes.

An alternative option is the Naples to Palermo crossing (journey time approximately 10.5 hours).
