Trip Summary

Having been introduced to the region’s white wines on day one, your journey of discovery will continue on day two. You will be picked up in the morning by an English-speaking driver guide who will transport you throughout the day on a private basis.

You’ll discover Chinon, home to some of the Loire Valley’s most exceptional reds. To begin your day, you’ll enjoy a guided tour and tasting at a stunning chateau surrounded by beautiful vineyards. Following this, you’ll delight in a wonderful picnic lunch filled with seasonal and local delicacies, accompanied by a bottle of the estate’s wine, as you look out over the peaceful and serene Loire Valley countryside. Your day will continue with a tour and tastings at a family-run winery in central Chinon, giving you some more opportunity to discover this charming, historic town.

At the end of your day, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Tours.

For those spending three nights in the region, on day four you will meet your English-speaking driver guide at a central departure point in Tours. Today you will be part of a small group of up to 8 people. You will set out for guided visits of two emblematic chateaux of the Loire Valley region: learning all about the Renaissance history of each chateau and taking a stroll in their beautiful gardens.

Lunch is not included as part of the package, but your guide will be pleased to recommend you some nearby boulangeries to grab a bite to eat. In the afternoon, you’ll head on to Vouvray, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour and tasting of three wines at another charming family-run estate. At the end of the day, your guide will drop you off in Tours.

In the evening, to round off such a delightful trip, a three-course dinner with drinks will be served in a premium brasserie in Tours.

• Entry to two quintessential Loire Valley Châteaux
• A tour and tastings at a family-run estate in Vouvray
• In the evening, a three-course dinner with drinks will be served in a premium brasserie in Tours

If the named accommodation / visits are not available, we will endeavour to find suitable alternatives of a similar grade; this may be subject to a supplement or a rebate depending on the price available.

Package Prices

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Considerable discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March). Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
