Portugal is one of our most requested regions for wine tours, thanks of course in part to the excellent wines being produced there but also because of the country’s reputation for being a safe and welcoming destination,  rich in its diversity, offering cosmopolitan cities and a fantastic climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year!  Portugal is home to a varied mix of cultures, heritage and landscapes which all come together in a small, yet unforgettably dynamic and welcoming country.

Whether you are in the wonderfully diverse and vibrant city of Lisbon tasting a Pastel de Nata, or in surrounded by vineyards,  you will encounter and remember the warm smiles of the Portuguese people and the world renowned excellence of Portuguese gastronomy and wines.

Upon arrival, check into your preferred hotel. In the evening, take part in a fabulous four hour walking gastronomy tour with a specialist foodie guide. This is a small group tour and there will be a maximum of twelve guests. You will stroll through the charming streets of Lisbon’s lesser-known neighbourhoods, stopping at traditional eateries and cosy tascas to sample local delicacies and delicious Portuguese wines. Your tour will include a relaxed stop to enjoy tasty petiscos (Portuguese tapas) and classic dishes, and it will end with the traditional pastel de nata!

Day two of your Essential Lisbon Wine Tour is dedicated to visiting wineries and tasting wines in the Lisbon Wine Region, just over an hour’s drive from the city.  You’ll meet your guide at a central departure point in Lisbon and head into the beautiful countryside to visit your first winery — a small estate dedicated to crafting some of the region’s most exciting wines. Here, the terroir truly comes through in every sip, with the hills and the nearby Atlantic Ocean leaving their unique imprint. Expect fresh, vibrant wines bursting with colour and flavour.

After a stop for lunch (please note that lunch is not included), you’ll continue to another area of the Lisbon wine region, giving you a taste of its remarkable diversity. Here, you’ll visit a boutique estate producing wines from indigenous grape varieties, a project designed not only to create exceptional wines but also to support local rural development and preserve the region’s cultural heritage.

After your visit and tasting, your driver will take you back to Lisbon. The evening will be yours to enjoy as you please. We’d be happy to recommend some of our favourite restaurants to make your night even more special.

After a leisurely breakfast on day three, check out of your hotel.

Package Prices

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
