It is a city that feels both historic and contemporary, with a truly wonderful food and wine scene.

Upon arrival on Day one of your Essential Lisbon wine tour, you will check into your hotel before heading out in the evening for a guided walking gastronomy experience led by a specialist foodie guide. This small-group tour (maximum 12 guests) takes you through some of Lisbon’s lesser-known neighbourhoods, stopping at traditional eateries and cosy tascas to sample regional dishes and carefully selected Portuguese wines. You will enjoy a relaxed tasting of petiscos (Portuguese small plates) and classic recipes, finishing, as all good Lisbon evenings should, with a pastel de nata. The rest of the evening is free for you to spend at your leisure.

of your Essential Lisbon Wine Tour is dedicated to visiting wineries and tasting wines in the Lisbon Wine Region, just over an hour’s drive from the city.  You’ll meet your guide at a central departure point in Lisbon and will enjoy a full day being driven through one of Portugal’s most captivating wine regions.  There will be a maximum of 8 guests on this tour and you will travel from Lisbon in a comfortable and modern minivan with an English-speaking driver.  You will journey through scenic landscapes into rolling vineyard countryside and historic hilltop settings. You will visit a welcoming local winery for a guided tasting, then continue into a dramatic coastal mountainous area where spectacular ocean and countryside views await.

You’ll have free time for lunch in a charming seaside town, with restaurant suggestions available from your guide. The afternoon features a visit to a renowned historic wine producer for a cellar tour and further tastings, before you return to Lisbon.

The evening will be yours to enjoy as you please. We’d be happy to recommend some of our favourite restaurants to make your evening even more special.

After a leisurely breakfast on day three, check out of your hotel. If you would like to stay longer in the region, please let us know and we would be delighted to create a bespoke itinerary tailored entirely to your requirements.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
