Alsace is easily accessible from the UK for a short break, however it is also an ideal destination as part of a longer, multi-region trip. Given the wide range of travel options, our standard package prices do not include travel. The principle options are as follows:
Colmar is located around 6 ¼ hours’ drive from Calais, and therefore this travel method would be suitable for long trips of a week or more that combine other regions, such as Champagne or Burgundy. Please contact us for crossing prices with Eurotunnel or P&O Ferries. If you would prefer to travel from an alternative UK port, we can often arrange this too.
Strasbourg is around 2 ½ hours from Paris by train and onward travel from Strasbourg to Colmar would take around half an hour. Riquewihr is located just a short taxi journey from Colmar.
Grape Escapes can book this for you if you wish – ticket prices in standard class between London and Strasbourg start at £99 per person and the train prices increase as the departure date nears so early booking is recommended. The definitive cost of your Eurostar travel can be confirmed 120 days before you travel, when the tickets are released. For UK-based travellers, there are direct flights from Gatwick (Easyjet), Heathrow (British Airways), Manchester (BMI), and Edinburgh (Easyjet) to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse, which is the closest airport to Colmar and Riquewihr.
