Your day begins with a visit to a family-run boutique winery, where vines have been cultivated for over two thousand years. You’ll be welcomed by a passionate winemaker who will guide you through the estate’s fascinating history. Here, you’ll learn about local grape varieties, traditional winemaking techniques, and the ideal conditions for ageing.

You’ll then enjoy a tasting of four wines in a charming tasting room, accompanied by a selection of local tapas.

After your tasting, hop aboard a convertible 4×4 vehicle for a scenic drive through the vineyards, accompanied by the winery’s viticulturist. This exclusive experience offers a unique way to take in the region’s rural beauty and gain insight into the meticulous care behind each vine.

The second stop of your Cava wine tour experience is a historic winery specialising in cava – Catalonia’s signature sparkling wine. Built over an old farmhouse and equipped with cutting-edge facilities, this estate offers an exclusive opportunity to explore the Capella, the oldest and most treasured part of the cellar.

Following your guided visit, you’ll be treated to a tasting of four exceptional cavas, each thoughtfully paired with traditional tapas to enhance the experience.

After your visit, you will be taken back to Barcelona. The evening is free for you to explore, and we would be happy to recommend some of our favourite restaurants in the city and reserve you a table if preferred.

Day three of your tour is dedicated to exploring the wonders of Barcelona and soaking up the atmosphere of this culturally rich and vibrant city – one of the most important and iconic destinations in Europe. No trip to Barcelona would be complete without a visit to its most famous landmark, the breathtaking La Sagrada Família. After meeting your guide at a central meeting point, enjoy a guided walking tour through the city’s highlights.

This half-day experience includes a guided visit to the magnificent Sagrada Família, along with a walking tour through some of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods. As you explore, you’ll take in the architectural beauty of the Gothic Quarter, admire the unique façades of Passeig de Gràcia, including Gaudí’s striking La Pedrera, and learn about the city’s rich history, culture, and artistic legacy along the way.

The afternoon will be free for you to explore the city at your own pace. For those who didn’t have time to take part in the food tour on arrival day, this could be the perfect moment to end your trip in style with a guided tasting experience through Barcelona’s vibrant culinary scene.

Alternatively, you may wish to discover more of the city’s world-famous landmarks, such as Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Montjuïc Hill, the Picasso Museum, or the bustling waterfront at Port Vell. These visits are not included in your package, but we would be delighted to help you book tickets or guided tours at an additional cost.

Outline Itinerary

Day Three of your Cava Tour Barcelona

• After breakfast, meet your guide at a central departure point for a half-day walking tour of Barcelona’s highlights.
• Visit the iconic La Sagrada Família with a guided tour and skip-the-queue entry.
• Explore the charming Gothic Quarter and admire the architecture along Passeig de Gràcia, including Gaudí’s striking La Pedrera.
• The afternoon is free to explore the city at your own pace. Optional activities include:
  • Food tour (if not taken on arrival day).
  • Visiting Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Montjuïc Hill, the Picasso Museum, or the waterfront at Port Vell.
• These activities are not included in your package, but we would be delighted to arrange them for you at an additional cost.

Final Day of your Cava Tour Barcelona

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.

• The below prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These prices are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
• At Grape Escapes, we recognise the challenges posed by mass tourism and the housing crisis in Barcelona. That’s why we only work with certified hotels, avoiding short-term rentals like Airbnbs. Our experiences are designed for small groups and we make an effort for tours in the Barcelona centre to be on foot. We also encourage guests to explore beyond the city to help decentralise tourism.
