Contact UsFor those looking for an introduction to the prestigous Veuve Clicquot Champagne, this tour may just be the answer.
After checking in at the 4* Hotel de la Paix on the first day, you will be welcomed at a tasting bar owned by a local Champagne House in the city centre. Here, enjoy a fun and insightful introduction to Champagne, with three tastings served alongside a charcuterie platter.
On day two, you will visit the stunning Veuve Clicquot cellars in Reims. The medieval Veuve Clicquot cellars or “crayères” were originally chalk pits and lie approximately 55-65 feet underground. Placed end-to-end, they would extend over more than 12 miles and they provide a constant temperature (48°F) and humidity, perfect for aging the wine. Veuve translates as widow, and the widow Clicquot was a fascinating woman, who truly shaped the history of the Champagne region and its industry. At the beginning of the 19th Century, after the death of her husband, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot decided to take over the Champagne House. Throughout the years, she faced many setbacks, but most of all huge successes. She conquered the Russian market, created an iconic brand and led the way to tremendous advances in the Champagne-making process
The Signature visit includes a full tour of the House and concludes with a flute of the famous Yellow Label Champagne as well as a flute of the latest Veuve Clicquot vintage.
In the evening, a three course Champagne tasting dinner will be served in a traditional restaurant in the city centre.
As with all of our tours, and more so with Veuve Clicquot, we can offer a whole range of exclusive visits. You could visit the Veuve Clicquot vineyards in the Grand Cru villages of Bouzy and Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims. Here, you would learn about the grape varieties, the appellation and the work carried out in the vineyards in order to create Veuve Clicquot’s world famous Champagnes. You would also have the opportunity to enjoy breath-taking views across the glorious vines at the Clos Colin, where Veuve Clicquot’s red grapes are grown and used for the blending of La Grande Dame Rosé. You could also consider a completely private experience, with an exclusive dinner or lunch in Veuve Clicquot’s private Manor. We would be delighted to put together your perfect Veuve Clicquot bespoke experience.

The hotel was excellent, clean, bright, modern and well-equipped. The location was perfect and even though it is a chain hotel, we felt it was very welcoming and not too corporate.

Firstly may I say that we had an utterly fantastic time and that the organisation and suggestions from the team at Grape Escapes was first rate, couldn’t fault it. So thank you. It ranks as one of our best ever breaks and much of that is down to the advice that we received from yourselves and the planning etc. The weather even played it’s part by being glorious all the time, what a bonus.
