Based in the wine capital of Champagne, our Essential Epernay Champagne trip is one of our most popular breaks, and offers the perfect introduction to France’s most celebrated sparkling wine region. This short getaway combines guided Champagne tours, exclusive tastings, and free time to explore Epernay and the Avenue de Champagne at your own pace.
Your journey begins with a warm welcome at your chosen Epernay hotel. After time to settle in, the evening brings a refined three-course dinner in one of our favourite local restaurants, each course perfectly paired with a different Champagne – a delicious start to your Champagne trip.
On day two, enjoy breakfast before your first Champagne tasting at a renowned Champagne house on the Avenue de Champagne. At midday you will join a small-group Champagne tour (maximum eight guests) with an expert local guide. Travel through the surrounding vineyard villages such as Hautvillers, enjoy a Champagne-paired lunch at a charming estate, and visit a boutique Champagne house for a second tasting.
You will return to Epernay in the late afternoon, leaving your evening free to discover the town’s wine bars, pavement cafés, or to stroll along the Avenue de Champagne.
For those staying an additional night, day three offers you the chance to enjoy a deeper dive into Champagne’s heritage. The morning includes a guided tour and tasting at one of Epernay’s prestigious Champagne houses, followed by pre-arranged transport to a second winery for a relaxed tour, tasting, and light lunch. This visit offers yet another chance to compare the styles and traditions of different Champagne houses. Your return to Epernay will also be arranged, allowing the rest of the day and evening to be spent entirely at leisure.
On your final day, savour a leisurely breakfast before checking out and heading home with unforgettable memories of vineyard views, historic Champagne cellars, and the exceptional flavours that make this region world-famous.
