Our three- or four-day Exclusive Cognac breaks offer the ultimate luxury experience for lovers of Cognac. Upon arrival in the region, check into your preferred room grade at the 5* Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa, which is ideally situated in the centre of Cognac. The hotel also boasts a premium spa, brasserie, bar, and Michelin-starred restaurant.
Once you have checked into your room and settled in, begin your holiday with a memorable and special three-course meal with wine pairing at Les Foudres, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Set in the former cellar beneath the hotel, the restaurant is lined with barrels to pay homage to the region’s history.
On day two, after a leisurely breakfast, you will meet your private driver at your hotel ready for a day of Cognac tastings. First, enjoy a private tour of the historic cellars at Chateau de Cognac, as well as guided tastings of their prestigious Baron Otard cognacs, which will be extracted right before your eyes.
Following such an enlightening experience, you will be welcomed at the world-famous Rémy Martin for a private guided tour, giving the opportunity to learn all about the House’s 300-year-old history, as well as its heritage and expertise. Your visit will conclude with a tasting session and a delicious lunch served at the estate.
Your day will then continue with a private tour and tasting experience at the renowned Maison Hennessy. You will be transported across the river by boat to the cellars and en route, your guide will introduce you to Hennessy’s history, savoir-faire and international standing. In the traditional ageing cellars, you will learn about the Cognac-making process from vine to bottle by way of an immersive 360o virtual reality experience, and a guided tour of the estate’s most prestigious cellars including the Founder’s Cellar, which gives insight to the ageing processes used to produce the rarest Hennessy cognacs. After taking the boat back across the river, a technical tasting session of Hennessy X.O and Paradis will take place.
You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day and the evening will be free for you to spend as you please.
If you are opting for the four-day break, you will be free to spend the morning of day three making the most of Hotel Chais Monnet’s premium spa facilities, which includes a 25m heated indoor swimming pool (and outdoor pool in the summer months), jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. You may also like to take this time to opt for a spa treatment with the delightful Kos Paris products.
Following this, enjoy a three-course lunch in Hotel Chais Monnet’s relaxed, lively brasserie. Please note drinks are not included and can be ordered and paid for locally on the day. In the afternoon, you will walk the ten minutes into town for a final tour and tasting at another Cognac house such as Meukow. On your guided tour, you will discover the heart of the cellars, and learn about the know-how and secrets of the house from the cellar master. Your visit will conclude with a tasting of three cognacs, including a Meukow XO.
The rest of the day will be free for you to spend as you please, before check out on day four.
