Guests are free to choose their three favourite Barolo and Barbaresco producers for a tour and a glass or two of their famous wines. There are several options subject to your preference and availabilities, including Bruno Rocca, l’Azienda Agricola Poderi Einaudi, la Tenuta di Fontanafredda, la Spinetta, Marcarini, Marchesi di Gresy, Cortese Giuseppe, Marchesi di Barolo, Oddero, Elio Altare and G.D. Vajra. Please note that a number of the more exclusive estates do not receive visitors, and some are closed at weekends. We would be pleased to discuss the various options with you and contact the individual estates accordingly. A four course lunch, perfectly paired with local wines will be served in a traditional Italian Osteria in Bra, the birthplace of the Slow Food Movement.  After such an enlightening day, enjoy a free evening in your lovely hotel.

After breakfast on day three, check out of the hotel. Make your way to Stresa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The journey time is just over two hours. Please note that this package does not include travel between La Morra and Stresa but we would be pleased to arranged a private transfer for you if required.

Upon arrival, check into your preferred room grade at the beautiful 5* Villa e Palazzo Aminta Hotel. The hotel overlooks Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands and boasts a wide range of luxurious facilities to ensure guests have an enchanting stay. After settling in and enjoying a free afternoon, you will be taken on a private panoramic cruise of the Borromean Gulf and its islands. A glass of Prosecco will be served on board with some nibbles. You will be dropped off in the town of Verbania at the end of the cruise. A two minute walk will take you to a Michelin-starred restaurant where a delicious four course tasting dinner will be served paired with wines. A private chauffeured vehicle will take you back to your hotel at the end of the evening.

As an alternative to the cruise and Michelin-starred dinner, we could arrange a private evening tour of Isola Bella, its breath-taking Baroque palace and magnificent Italian style gardens followed by an aperitif with canapés served in the garden. A supplement applies for this exclusive experience. Please do not hesitate to let us know your preferred activity and we will update your itinerary accordingly.

On day four, after having breakfast at your hotel, we will arrange a morning boat tour of Lake Maggiore for you on a private basis. You will have the opportunity to admire the stunning Borromean islands whilst soaking up the Italian sun. You will be given some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be met by a private chauffeured vehicle and you will be taken to a local winery for a full tour of the estate and wine making facilities followed by an extensive tasting session of their wines. You will be taken back to Stresa at the end of the tour. In the evening, a delicious dinner will be served in the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant. Drinks can be ordered and paid for directly on the day.

After a leisurely breakfast on day five, check out of the hotel.

Day Three of your Piedmont and Lake Maggiore Wine Tasting Tour

• After breakfast on day three, check out of the hotel.
• Drive to Stresa, on the shore of Lake Maggiore.

Availability cannot be guaranteed until we have received a confirmed booking, together with the deposit payment (or payment in full where the dates of travel are in less than 60 days). If the named accommodation / visits are not available, we will endeavour to find suitable alternatives of a similar grade; this may be subject to a supplement or a rebate depending on the price available.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
