How to Get to Prosecco

The closest airport to the Prosecco vineyards is Venice Marco Polo, making it the most convenient gateway for those planning to travel to Prosecco. There are direct flights from a number of UK and Irish airports, making the region easily accessible for a Prosecco wine holiday. 

Direct flights from London include services from London City with British Airways, London Gatwick with British Airways and easyJet, London Heathrow with British Airways, London Luton with easyJet and London Southend with easyJet. There are also flights from Birmingham with Jet2, Bristol with easyJet, Edinburgh with Jet2 and easyJet, Leeds Bradford with Jet2, Manchester with Jet2, Ryanair and easyJet, and Dublin with Aer Lingus.

Getting from Venice Airport to the City

Although Venice city centre can be reached by shuttle bus or taxi, many travellers prefer the novelty of arriving in the heart of Venice by water bus. The dock is less than ten minutes’ walk from the airport, and tickets can be purchased in the arrivals hall or directly on board. Tickets can also be purchased online here for a slightly lower price.

Water buses run approximately every fifteen minutes and stop at several of Venice’s main locations, including San Marco, Rialto, Fondamenta Nuove and Le Guglie.

Flights to Prosecco via Venice Treviso

An alternative option is Venice Treviso Airport, which is located approximately 12 miles from Venice city centre. There are flights to Venice Treviso from London Stansted, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and Dublin with Ryanair.

Regular shuttle buses operate between Treviso Airport and Venice, while taxis are also readily available outside the arrivals area.

Travelling to the Prosecco Vineyards

For visitors wishing to stay among the vineyards themselves, it is important to consider transport when planning your trip. Due to the more remote location of the Prosecco vineyards, we strongly advise having access to your own vehicle if you would prefer to stay in the countryside. This will give you greater flexibility when visiting wineries, exploring the surrounding towns and travelling between your accommodation and the vineyards.
