Contact UsThis wine and spa package in Piedmont is designed to offer the perfect balance of relaxation and wine tastings. Based in a beautiful 5* property, you will have plenty of time to luxuriate in the on-site spa as well as taste some of the best products the region has to offer – its famous wines and sought-after truffles!
Upon arrival in the UNESCO Classified Piedmont region, check into your preferred room at the 5* Il Boscareto, a luxurious and unique property nestled in the vineyards, offering breath-taking views of the Langhe countryside. The afternoon and evening will be free to settle in and enjoy your pleasant surroundings. In the evening, delight in a five course welcome dinner, served in the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Drinks have not been included as part of the package and can be ordered and paid for locally on the day.
On the morning of day two, you will have the opportunity to relax and take advantage of the hotel’s spa. La Sovrana Spa boasts an extensive range of wellness options. Guests can enjoy the Water Room equipped with a heated pool and a hot tub or exercise in the Technogym. Access to the spa is complimentary with this package, and we would be very pleased to pre-book treatments for you.
After lunch, you will be met by an English speaking specialist driver/guide, who will accompany you throughout the afternoon on a private basis. You will be taken to two local wineries in the Barolo or Barbaresco areas of production for cellar tours and extensive tastings of the estates’ sought-after wines. You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day and we would be pleased to recommend and restaurant and reserve you a table for dinner if required.
After breakfast on day three, your guide will return and accompany you throughout the day on a second day of activities. You will firstly be taken to meet a local truffle hunter, who will share with you everything there is to know about this gourmet delicacy; you’ll discover why truffles are so renowned, the local traditions of the hunters, the best environment for growing truffles, and will also learn about the characteristics of the different truffle varieties. You will then be welcomed (subject to weather) to accompany the ‘trifulao’ or truffle hunter and his dog on a typical trail which they often follow – hopefully locating some truffles en-route! The visit will conclude with a truffle tasting; a fresh truffle will be shaved onto local cheese, perfectly paired with some salami and wine!
Following your morning’s activity, an unforgettable truffle tasting meal will be served in a pretty local restaurant. Your three truffle-inspired courses will be served alongside two glasses of wine.
After lunch, the day will conclude with a visit of a nearby winery. As well as having a full tour of the estate and cellars, learning about the wine-production process from press to bottle, you will also have the opportunity to taste a selection of the estate’s wines. You will be dropped back at your hotel at the end of the day, in time to relax and enjoy the evening.
