Trip Summary

The day will commence with a visit to a small, family-run Grand Cru Champagne House for a tour of the fascinating Champagne-making process from press to bottle and tastings of three to five Champagnes. During this visit, you will have the opportunity to try vintage Champagne, an exceptional chance to deepen your knowledge of the wines of Champagne.

Finally, you will visit the largest and grandest Champagne House, Moët and Chandon, where you will have an exclusive Dom Pérignon tour. You will be visiting some of the oldest areas of the cellars which are seldom visited by the public and a tasting of Dom Pérignon will conclude the visit in an elegant reception room at the Moët mansion. The highlight of the trip will undoubtedly be the gala dinner at Monisuer Lallement’s triple Michelin- restaurant in the hotel.

Outline Itinerary

Day Two of your Gastronomic Champagne Tour

• After breakfast, you will be met at the hotel by a chauffeur-driven car. Your tour day will comprise of:
• A visit to a medium-sized co-operative, offering an insight into the Champagne-making process.  Your experience will conclude with a delicious Champagne and chocolate pairing, adding a gourmet touch to your day.
• A tasting session of three single varietal Champagnes with platters of cheeses and gourmet local delicacies in Hautvillers.
• An exclusive Dom Pérignon tour with a flute of Dom Pérignon Champagne.
• In the evening, a gastronomic dinner will be served at Monsieur Lallement’s triple Michelin-starred restaurant. Please note that drinks have not been included as part of the package.

Final Day of your Gastronomic Champagne Tour

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.

Availability cannot be guaranteed until we have received a confirmed booking, together with the deposit payment (or payment in full where the dates of travel are in less than 60 days). If the named accommodation / visits are not available, we will endeavour to find suitable alternatives of a similar grade; this may be subject to a supplement or a rebate depending on the price available.

Package Prices

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.

Enhance your Experience/Tour Upgrades

• Stay longer! Just let us know how many extra nights you would like and we would be delighted to arrange an extended stay.
• Taste more Champagne. Depending on how many nights you wish to stay for, we would be pleased to suggest further Champagne Houses in Reims for you to visit and book you a tour.
• Explore Epernay and the vineyards. If you are staying an additional night in Reims, you may wish to spend the day in Epernay and the surrounding vineyards, enjoying some of our recommended tours and activities.
• Stay in the vineyards. Why not stay a little longer in Champagne and indulge yourself in a stay in one of our unique rural hotels?
• Spend a night in Northern France. The drive from Calais to Champagne is only 2 ½ hours, however a large number of our guests enjoy spending a night or two en route to explore Northern France and in particular, the WW1 Battlefields.
