Contact UsOur Extensive Burgundy package offers the complete Burgundy experience, giving you the opportunity to discover the main appellations of the region. From Chablis to Beaune, from Beaune to Chalon-sur-Saône and from Chalon-sur-Saône to Macon – you will explore the Pays Chablisien, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte Mâconnaise. You will sample some delicious local food and visit some charming villages and the historic town of Beaune.
Your trip will start in the quaint village of Chablis where you will learn all about these popular white wines. Upon arrival, check into your Comfort room at the 4* Hostellerie des Clos. In the afternoon, take a short walk to the cellars of a premium producer of Chablis wines for a tasting session of four of their wines. In the evening, a three course dinner with wines, water and coffee will be served in the hotel’s restaurant.
On day two, after breakfast, check out of the hotel. You will be met at your hotel by your English-speaking guide, who will accompany you throughout the morning. You will need to take your luggage with you. The morning is entirely dedicated to learning about the region’s unique terroir and vineyards. After a stop in the vineyards, you will visit a local producer to see the wine-making process from press to bottle and taste their full range. Your guide will drop you in Auxerre at the end of the morning. Your guide will be pleased to recommend a suitable restaurant for lunch in Auxerre if required. After lunch, board your train to Beaune. The journey time will be approximately 2 ½ hours.
Upon arrival in Beaune, check into your Charme room at the 4* Hotel de la Poste, ideally located in the town centre. A four course gourmet dinner will be served in a premium city centre restaurant, accompanied by local wine, water and coffee.
On day three, you will be met by a pre-booked and pre-paid taxi and driven out into the stunning nearby vineyards of Aloxe-Corton, one of the only villages in Burgundy to boast both red and white Grand Cru wines. Here, you will be welcomed as a guest at the authentic family-owned Domaine Comte Sénard, where you will enjoy a visit of the vineyard, Les Clos des Meix, as well as the 13th Century cellars.
The visit will conclude with a three course traditional lunch, during which you will have the unique opportunity to taste six Grand Cru wines, complemented further by comments from one the estate’s sommeliers. After lunch, you will be escorted back to Beaune. In the afternoon, walk across the historic centre of Beaune to a local winery, where you will enjoy a full tour and tasting session of six Burgundian wines. Your knowledgeable host will talk you through all of the wines. The evening will be free for you to do as you please. In your travel pack will be a comprehensive list of recommended restaurants. We would be very pleased to reserve you a table at any of these for dinner.
You will continue to build on your newfound knowledge on day four, where you will meet your English-speaking driver/guide for a full day transported and guided tour of the vineyards. You will be transported in an off-road vehicle, allowing access to locations that are usually off-limits. You will visit both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, experiencing the range of wines this prestigious region has to offer. During the first part of the tour, you will be introduced to the sources of some of the greatest Chardonnay wines- namely the famous vineyards of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
In addition to white wine, you will also be introduced to the Pinot Noir grape from Pommard, Volnay and Santenay. The morning will conclude with a visit to a nearby domaine in the Côte de Beaune, where the owner will take you on a full tour of the estate and beautiful vaulted cellars, explaining to you all about their wines as you taste them. In the afternoon, you will explore the Côte de Nuits, driving through the famous vineyards of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin. Your guide will reveal to you the secrets of Burgundy wine whilst you enjoy a glass in the heart of the vineyards. Your time in the Côte de Nuits will then conclude with a visit to a second domaine, for a tour of the estate and cellars and followed by tastings of the estate’s wines.
On day five, check out of the hotel and take your luggage with you. You will be met at the hotel by a pre-booked and pre-paid taxi and driven to the famed appellation of Puligny-Montrachet, where you will be welcomed as guests at one of the biggest names in the village. The experience will include an hour spent in the vineyards, learning all about the work undertaken here, before returning to the winery, where you will enjoy a tour of their estate and cellars. Following the tour, you will be invited into their tasting room, where a broad tasting of nine wines from the Côte de Beaune will be offered alongside a delightful three course lunch. The owners and staff are very gracious hosts and the wine tastings and meal always prove both enjoyable and enlightening. After lunch, your taxi will return to take you to a second estate in the Côte de Beaune for a tour of the estate and tasting of their wines. You will be taken to Dracy-le-Fort at the end of the day.
Upon arrival in Dracy-le-Fort, check into your Standard room at the charming Hotel le Dracy. You may wish to relax and enjoy the hotel’s great facilities before dinner, perhaps take a dip in the pool or admiring the views from the terrace. A delicious three course dinner will be served in the hotel’s gourmet restaurant. Drinks can be ordered and paid for locally.
On day six, we will arrange bicycle hire for you for the day. You will first visit an estate to embark on an insightful tour of their historical cellars, before tasting three of their wines. You will then be served a gourmet board of local products as a light lunch. After lunch, we will arrange tours and tastings at two further estates in the Côte Chalonnaise to continue to enrich your knowledge of the area and its unique terroir. Make your way back to your hotel at the end of the day. The evening will be free for you to do as you please.
After breakfast on day seven, check out of the hotel. You will be transferred to Chalon-sur-Saône station by a pre-booked and pre-paid taxi, in time to board your train to Mâcon. Upon arrival in Mâcon, check into your Standard room at the 4* Hotel Panorama 360, ideally located in the city centre. The hotel is only a six minute walk from the station but you may prefer to take a taxi. You will then have some free time for lunch in Mâcon.
In the afternoon, we will arrange for bikes to be delivered to the hotel. Cycle 45 minutes to a premium local producer, in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards. Here, you will be welcomed for a VIP tour of the estate’s Clos followed by an historic presentation of the estate, a tour of the cellar and a tasting session of at least three of the estate’s wines. You will then cycle to a second estate in the Mâconnais, where we will arrange another tour and tastings for you. At the end of the day, make your way back to the hotel. The last evening will be free for you to do as you please.

We got back last night from our Burgundy escapade, and I am happy to tell you that it was all a great success. Your choices of stops proved very well-judged, each different from the next and each full of interest. What came through with amazing force was the absolute passion of everyone who took us round for what they were doing, their profound knowledge of their terroirs, and the dedication of everyone involved.
