Trip Summary

Upon arrival in the village of Chagny, check into your preferred room at Maison Lameloise. The remainder of the afternoon will be free for you to settle in and enjoy your pleasant surroundings. In the evening, a four course gastronomic dinner will be served in the hotel’s triple Michelin-starred restaurant. Please note that drinks have not been included as part of the package, and can be ordered and paid for locally on the day.

On day two, you will be met at your hotel by an English-speaking specialist driver/guide, who will accompany you throughout the day on a private transported tour of the Burgundy world-famous wine region. Today, you will visit two prestigious wineries in the Côte de Beaune, the true home of the Chardonnay grape. You will learn all about this sought after appellation and you will of course also have the opportunity to sample some delicious traditional local dishes. Starting in the revered village of Puligny-Montrachet, you will be welcomed as the guests of one of the biggest names in the village. The experience will include an hour spent learning about the work in the vineyard before returning to their winery in the centre of the village, where you will enjoy a tour of their cellars. Following the tour, the group will transfer to their tasting rooms where a broad tasting of nine wines from the Côte de Beaune will be offered alongside a delightful three course lunch.

You will then visit a prestigious producer of red and white Burgundy wines. Here, enjoy an insightful tasting workshop with a wine expert, who will guide you through a selection of the estate’s wines. The tasting will focus on the concept of terroir. There will be a maximum of eight guests on the tour. You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day. The evening will be free for you to do as you please. We would be pleased to recommend a restaurant for dinner this evening if required.

If you opt for the four day package, your driver/guide will return on day three for a second day of tours and tastings, this time in the renowned Côte de Nuits, to samplt the region’s Pinot Noirs. One of the highlights of the day will be a visit to a premium domaine in the quaint village of Aloxe-Corton, the only village in Burgundy to boast both red and white Grand Cru wines. You will see their vineyards and historic cellars, and conclude your visit with a three course lunch, accompanied by six of their Grand Cru wines. In the afternoon, you will be taken to a second well-regarded winery. Here, you will visit the historic cellars and taste five wines including a Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. A third visit will be arranged at another Côte de Nuits domaine before going back to your hotel at the end of the day. The evening will again be free for you to do as you please.

Day Three of your Burgundy wine tasting tour  (Optional)

• On the morning of day three, your driver/guide will return to accompany you on a second day of tours. Today, you will be taken to the Côte de Nuits.
• Your tour day will comprise of:
• A tour and Grand Cru tasting lunch in Aloxe-Corton.
• A VIP Tour of the cellar with an explanation of the wine-making process at a second Côte de Nuits estate, followed by tastings of five of their wines.
• A tour and tasting at a third carefully selected premium domaine.
• You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day.
• The evening will again be free for you to do as you please.

Final Day of your Burgundy wine tasting tour

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
