For lovers of Burgundy’s smooth, oaky Chardonnays who would like to immerse themselves in the white wines of the world-famous Côte de Beaune, this Burgundy wine tour may be the answer. All of our Essential tours are designed to provide guests with an in-depth insight into the wonderful wine regions, in a short amount of time and the package is available mid-week and weekends throughout the year, with the exception of January and December.

After checking into the elegant 4* Hôtel Olivier Leflaive in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet and enjoying a relaxing evening soaking up your lovely surroundings, you will be warmly welcomed on the morning of day two for a truly memorable experience hosted at the hotel’s winery. Your visit will begin learning about the work carried out in the vineyards, followed by a guided tour of the estate’s winery. You will then be invited to their tasting rooms, where a broad selection of seven wines from the Côte de Beaune will be served alongside a delightful three course lunch. The owners and staff are very gracious hosts and the wine tastings and meal always prove both enjoyable and enlightening. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the magnificent Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. Here, enjoy a full tour of the Château’s beautiful cellars dating back to the 11th and 14th Centuries, and your tour will conclude with tastings of five wines from across the region.

For those staying an additional night, we will arrange for you to be taken to Beaune for the day. Here, you will firstly be taken on a tour of the cellars of a local wine-maker and a tasting session of six Burgundy wines will then ensue. A four course lunch with wines, water and coffee will then be served in a traditional restaurant in the town centre. Before being taken back to Puligny-Montrachet, you will have a free afternoon to explore Beaune, taking in famous sights such as the Hospices and the Notre Dame basilica. Beaune is an ancient walled city, with about half of the battlements, ramparts, and the moat, having survived and in remaining in good condition, and the central “old town” is extensive. The town holds a major fine food market on Saturdays, where there are a large number of stall holders supplying a broad selection of products and specialties from Burgundy and the surrounding regions.
