Beginning in Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, the route weaves through the vineyards of Burgundy and Beaujolais, following the Rhône River into Lyon, France’s undisputed gastronomic capital. From there, continue to Avignon, the gateway of Provence, before venturing through colourful fields and vineyards and concluding in the Mediterranean cultural-melting-pot of Marseille.

Not for the faint-hearted, the Exclusive Vallée de la Gastronomie is our flagship tour: an immersive ten-night itinerary that takes in the very best that the whole Vallée has to offer! You’ll start in Burgundy and finish on the Mediterranean coast, staying at six different five-star hotels along the way, and eating your way through the very best of France (with no less than five Michelin-starred meals to complete the experience). Private transfers will be included, and the focus will be on showcasing the crème de la crème of France’s food and wine scene.
Essential Vallée de la Gastronomie covers ten days of incredible experiences designed for those who are after a truly authentic food and wine experience, taking in the best of French culture en route. You’ll travel by rail between the regions and join fascinating small-group food and wine tours in many of your destinations. Lunches and dinners will be at traditional bistros which showcase the classic celebrated flavours of each region.
Beginning in Dijon, a city which once held a prominent history as the influential Duchy of Burgundy, and a place whose heart has always been in winemaking, your Grape Escape will see you discovering the world-famous Pinot Noirs of the Côte de Nuits and Chardonnays of the Côte de Beaune before weaving your way through the rolling vineyards and charming villages of the Beaujolais region, and concluding in France’s gastronomic capital, Lyon. Delve into the sun-drenched heart of Southern France… Beginning in the vineyards of Condrieu in the Northern Rhône, you’ll travel along the river into the fascinating city of Avignon and then end up in Marseille with time spent on the sparkling shores of Cassis in Provence. Your trip is sure to combine culinary indulgence with in-depth wine exploration. Exclusive Southern Vallée de la Gastronomie is not to be missed if you’re a gourmet food lover: discover the world of fine French chocolate, visit a traditional olive oil mill, and dine at the legendary Anne-Sophie Pic’s triple Michelin-starred restaurant as well as stay at the onsite five-star hotel. The Essential Southern Vallée de la Gastronomie sees you staying in a mix of four-star hotels with rail travel joining the regions, an epic wine tour in the acclaimed Châteauneuf-du-Pape and a gourmet walking tour in both Avignon and Marseille.
