Nestled between Mâcon and Lyon, the Beaujolais region is a true, authentic, French hidden gem. With its red wines made from the Gamay grapes, its traditional cuisine, charming countryside and picturesque villages, the area has so much to offer. Our three day/two night and four day/three nights Exclusive Beaujolais breaks provide you the opportunity to explore this lovely region in style, sampling fresh and fruity wines at a variety of estates and tasting local specialties at well-regarded restaurants.
Upon arrival in the region, check into your opulent Château Suite at the majestic 5* Château de Bagnols. The Château is a beautiful building, full of history, with luxurious rooms, a gastronomic restaurant, a relaxing spa and an impressive park. At Château de Bagnols, guests will experience true French hospitality in a decadent setting. In the evening, a gourmet four course dinner will be served in the hotel’s restaurant. Drinks have not been included, and can be ordered and paid for locally.
On the morning of day two, after breakfast, you will be met at the Château by an English-speaking chauffeur, who will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. Today, you are free to request two of your favourite wineries in famous Cru villages such as Brouilly, Fleury and Régnié. Please note that a number of the more exclusive estates do not tend to receive visitors at weekends and some of them do not receive visitors at all. We would be pleased to discuss the various options with you and contact the individual estates accordingly.
At around midday, you will be welcomed at the beautful Château de Juliènas, where you will be taken on a guided tour of the winery and cellar followed by a tasting of the estate’s wines. After the tour, delight in a delicious picnic lunch in the middle of the vineyards. You will be taken back to the Château at the end of the day. The evening will be free for you to do as you please. We would of course be very pleased to suggest a restaurant and reserve you a table for dinner if required.
If you opt for the four day package, you will be taken on a second day of tours. Once again, you a free to let us know your preferred estates. We would however be equally happy to make suggestions. For lunch, you will be taken to the renowned triple Michelin-starred restaurant George Blanc, where a four course menu will be served. Drinks can be ordered and paid for locally on the day. You will be taken back to Château de Bagnols at the end of the day. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you would like us to reserve you a table for dinner.
