Trip Summary

On day two of your Beaujolais wine experience, after a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you will be met by your private driver-guide and depart for a full-day private exploration of the Beaujolais vineyards.

Travelling north of Lyon, you’ll pass through rolling hills and vineyard-covered slopes as you make your way into the heart of the region’s vineyards. Throughout the day, you will enjoy private visits and tastings at a selection of carefully chosen estates, offering a deeper understanding of the Gamay grape and the diverse terroirs that define the wines of Beaujolais.

A highlight of the day is a private visit to Château de la Chaize, one of the region’s most historic and significant estates. Here, you will enjoy a guided tasting, gaining exclusive insight into both the heritage of the estate and its contemporary winemaking approach.

There will be time during the day to stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Your guide will be happy to recommend a suitable option depending on your preferences, whether you are looking for something relaxed and informal or a more gastronomic experience (payable locally).

Following your visits, your driver will return you to Lyon in the late afternoon.

The evening is at leisure, allowing you to explore Lyon at your own pace. Restaurant recommendations and reservations can be arranged on request.

If you opt for the four-day package, day three of your Beaujolais wine experience will include a further day of touring, offering the opportunity to explore the region in greater depth. Following breakfast at the hotel you will be collected by your private driver-guide for a further day of exploration in Beaujolais.

Your day begins with a private visit and tasting at a carefully selected estate in northern Beaujolais, focusing on the region’s more structured and age-worthy expressions of Gamay, offering a natural continuation of your previous day’s discoveries.

From here, continue to the nearby village of Vonnas, home to the renowned Georges Blanc, a destination synonymous with refined French gastronomy.

You will enjoy a leisurely lunch here, with time to fully appreciate both the cuisine and the setting. Drinks are not included and can be ordered and paid for locally on the day.

Following lunch, there will be time for a gentle stroll through the village before returning to Lyon in the mid-afternoon. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

On the final day of your Beaujolais wine experience, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before checking out and continuing your onward journey.

• After breakfast, check out of the hotel.

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
• Single supplements and extra night prices are available upon request.
